“Have never found anyone better than Romani Restoration. His expertise in wood is truly amazing! We had read about his restoration work being featured in some of Pasadena’s most historic homes. We had used two other wood floor companies before Romani’s and were extremely disappointed with the work. Romani came in and restored what we were told was too old and had to be replaced.
We live in a 1924 Mediterranean home. Marco repaired the floors throughout the house. All the cabinets in our bathroom including the wood medicine cabinet, had 20 some years of paint stripped off. It is now down to it’s beautiful natural wood finish which he prepared and stained. Not only is Marco extremely detail oriented, but he also works so hard and aims to please. He’s clean, thorough and timely. He takes great pride in his work. He’s also just a really nice and happy guy too! We have our “wood restoration” guy and will never have to look for another! I strongly recommend him for your job!“

He came over to our house for a free estimate, picked up the furniture for free and was in constant communication about the refinishing process, including pictures of how everything was looking. “We are incredibly grateful to Marco for the work he did on our front door. After several failed attempts from other contractors, we’d just about given up on saving the oak door of our 1929 home. On a tour of historic homes in Riverside, one of the guides mentioned Marco and we figured we didn’t have anything to lose; we’d try one last time before replacing the door. This door had a lot of problems. Marco came out, explained that he doesn’t farm out his jobs; he’s there the entire time and is meticulous in his effort to not just do a good job – he wants it to be perfect. The door came out beautifully and will last for another several decades because of the care he took in restoring and repairing it. He follows up on his work as well. He did the work well over one month ago and has called twice to make sure we’re happy with the door and were able to contact his recommended contacts to polish up the brass on the door. We could not be more pleased. Marco is responsible, reliable, ethical, maintains contact and his prices are remarkably reasonable considering the level of expertise and attention to detail he brings to the job.“

“I promised Marco that I would write a review months ago; however, I never got around to it until now. After reading all his great reviews, all I can do is echo what has already been said and to confirm the reviews are all true based upon my experience with Marco. My projects entailed staining French doors and casement windows (on a 1911/1912 Craftsman home), repairing and re-staining the wood footboard of a sleigh bed (due to a combination of a 127-lb dog scratching and chewing), and finish reparation on an antique French paint inlay side table that belonged to my Grandmother which I thought was beyond saving.
Who is Marco? He is a professional craftsman and artist who not only takes immeasurable pride in his work buts put part of himself – his love and passion – into his work. He IS part of the finished product. When people talk about someone having respect for you and your home and your stuff…this is Marco. His devotion for his craft and admiration for all that is wood is readily apparent in the outcome of whatever job he completes.
While the staining and finish of our doors and windows is like glass (and is very impressive), I am even more happy with my sleigh bed and Grandmother’s table. The bed repair is not even noticeable – it looks perfect and like nothing ever happened. Grandma’s table is back to its prior glory, and I’m so happy!!!
Thank-you to Marco and his helper for the great work, great attention to detail and for always cleaning up. We are loving the use and more specifically, the looks, of our “old” stuff that now looks new again!!!“

“Marco, the owner of Romani Restoration, did an excellent restoration of our large front door which had suffered a great deal of weather damage over twenty years. He carefully stripped the finish and sanded it down, and patiently worked to bleach out the dark spots and restore it to its original condition. He made many trips to the house because the job required a slow, careful approach. We really appreciated that, and the finished door looks great! Marco cares about his work. He’s a craftsman. I think he did the same quality for us that he would do if he was working on his own house.“

“We met Marco over 13 years ago as a referral from a friend.
Not only has he beautifully refinished several pieces of furniture for our home, he also restored the intricate woodwork in our Craftsman/Victorian home to its finest glory. The restoration process involved significant amounts of paint stripping, wood preparation, stain matching and final finish. The woodwork has a custom color and finish.
Marco is very detail oriented and his results are BEAUTIFUL. He also maintained a clean and protected work site in our home throughout the process.

“I hired Marco to restore 2 Craftsman doors after several other companies turned down the job because they doors were too damaged (a combination of sun damage and dog scratching, plus one of them had just been treated for termites). Everyone recommended I just get new doors.
And I did — but for a quarter of the cost — because Marco and his worker, Calisto, did such an amazing job.
As other reviewers have said, Marco is a true craftsman. He takes great pride in his work, which shows. He guided me every step of the way to make the right choices regarding color and finish to ensure that I was getting exactly what I wanted, and he paid attention to minor details that I never would have thought of (like the threshold color). He took great care of my house and me through the process.
He also gave me instructions on maintenance to make sure that my doors stay beautiful.
If and when I need to get my floors redone, Marco will be the first person I call.
